I love spring

Don't you just love spring? It is finally starting to warm up here (Chicagoland) and everything brown is turning green I can't wait to pull the patio furniture up from the basement and be able to knit outside. Now what to knit this summer? I am thinking about golf club covers to match my new golf bag. And maybe a felted bag for harvesting the vegetables from my garden.

Stop smoking, start knitting

We received a very thoughful email today from one of our readers, praising the Daily Knitter. She described how she quit smoking a few months ago and has taken up knitting to keep her hands busy whenever she has free time. Instead of smoke breaks at work, she takes knitting breaks and says it really helps.

It's true that knitting can be therapy. I've heard about knitting groups in hosiptals, nursing homes, and even prisons.

Don't be shy about pattern errata

Please take the time to email us at editor@DailyKnitter.com if you have found an errata in one of our exclusive patterns. While we can hope to be perfect, we surely are not, and appreciate all emails from readers. We will update the pattern with the correction and post a note on the site.

Thanks, Maggie

So many buttons!

I went to the new JoAnn in our area today to find buttons for the cardigan I just finished. To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement! I have never seen so many different kinds of buttons. I bet I was in that aisle for over 30 minutes just studying the choices. I ended up with some pretty metallic ones. Here's a pic.

Welcome!

Welcome to the new DailyKnitter blog! The Daily Knitter editors will use this blog to post their knitting thoughts and much more. We look forward to sharing our musings with you!

What kind of things might you see here? Our editors are often looking for comments from knitters on patterns, articles, and other portions of the Daily Knitter site. We would love to have your feedback. You'll also see somewhat "off-topic" posts from our editors on anything they wish to share, knitting realted or not.

So, stay tuned and enjoy!
